What treasures lie hidden in an out-of-the-way country church.
Visitors travel far and wide to visit the unique series of scraffito panels at Llanfair Kilgeddin St Mary in Monmouthshire. This remarkable work, celebrating the song of creation, was installed in memory of Rosamond Emily Lindsay, wife of the then rector, WJ Coussmaker Lindsay. WJ was the cousin of Sir Coutts Lindsay, owner of The Grosvenor Gallery and therein lies the reason why this unassuming country church was blessed with an artistic scheme like no other, by one of the most talented Pre-Raphaelite artists of the era.
