Heritage Help. A new, inclusive one-stop shop website for individuals and organisations who want to protect historic buildings, largely put together by Lucie Carayon, the Ancient Monuments Society’s Casework Secretary.
www.heritagehelp.org.uk is a living tool which will undergo constant updating and expansion, designed to help individual owners, local history groups and town and parish councils facing new responsibilities for the care of their historic environment under the Localism Act of 2011.
A number of articles on the site are written by the Friends of Friendless Churches, and advice is given on listed buildings and conservation areas, campaigning, use of the media, developments in legislation, how to form local groups, how to carry out maintenance and protect that much loved local building.
The Ancient Monuments Society is the Friends’ sister charity – with whom we share an office and staff.
